This documentary will tell the story of Manly’s harbour pool, built in 1931 by the ferry company to boost profits. It was a handsome feature of the Manly Cove landscape until it was destroyed by a severe storm in 1974.

Every few years citizens call upon Council to rebuild the magnificent pool and boardwalk. In this documentary I intend to tell both the history of the Pool and to explore the present day situation surrounding the competing interests involved in protecting and improving Manly Cove. We are talking harbour pleasures and environmental concerns: a potent mix. Will the boardwalk ever rise again?
